Netcare Olivedale Hospital which is part of the Netcare group of hospitals is conveniently located to the north of Johannesburg, and offers patients access to affordable and appropriate medical treatment.
The hospital is surrounded by spacious gardens which are visible from the wards on the north side of the Maternity Unit. The wards on the inner side look onto a quadrangle with fountain and trees. This creates a home-from-home atmosphere for new Mums to make your birthing experience a very pleasant and memorable one. There is a large lounge just outside the Maternity Ward for new Mothers to visit with family who are not allowed into the Maternity Ward.

- Three semi private two bedded wards

- Two single first stage labour wards
- One 2-bed first stage labour ward
- Two delivery rooms
- Ten bedded Neo-Natal intensive care unit
- Rooming-in
- Strict security entrance
You need to pre-book your admission between 28 and 32 weeks of your pregnancy. As a pre-booked maternity mother, you will receive a Netbaby Maternity Passport, which entitles you to the following services:
- 1 x 4D Ultrasound (See & meet your baby real time live and record this special moment).
- Foetal non-stress test (On doctor’s orders only)
- In-hospital vaccination
- Birth Registration – Home Affairs visits our maternity ward on a daily basis, Monday to Friday and will assist with the abridged Birth Certificate. Please note Original ID of both parents will be required. The Unabridged Birth certificate can only be applied for at Home Affairs.
- Netbaby gift pack
- A well-baby clinic visit following delivery
- Courtesy follow-up assistance
- Netcute Baby Website (Your baby’s picture on the website so your family and friends can see your baby within a day or so of birth and they can post an e-greeting card to parents). This is a lovely service for those families who are overseas or very far from you.
